St. Paul’s Rector
Rev. Connie Gordon
Connie Gordon was called as the new rector of St. Paul’s in the summer of 2007, following the retirement of the much loved Rev. Nina Stasser, and began serving our parish on October 1, 2007.
In 2005, Connie graduated from the School of Theology in Sewanee, TN., where she served as sacristan. As a student, she served The Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain, TN., for two years. Following graduation, Connie served as curate, Deacon in Charge, and then Rector at St. Barnabas parish in Tooele, UT.
Connie’s ministry specialty is church growth and planting, and she worked with the Diocese of Utah to study the viability of a new church in the Diocese. Connie continues to work to ensure continuity of the mutual ministries at St. Paul’s, and to encourage and empower lay ministries within our parish.
Connie moved to Vernal with her husband, James, and their two lovely daughters, Heather-Mariah and Rachael Nicole. Connie and James have been married for 20 years and lived for many years in Moab, UT.
The Gordon family has been in the Diocese of Utah for many years, and in fact celebrates 5 generations of Episcopalians in Utah. The family has a love of animals and enjoys fishing and hiking in Utah’s beautiful countryside. Connie and James also enjoy gardening.
The Gordon family has made the Uintah Basin their home, and have come to know and love the people of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
